Another very good reason for a golfing tour of Spain is to get to know the work of some of the great designers that have raised the Spanish golfing landscape to world-class levels.

Robert Trent Jones, one of the most influential names in golf course architecture, left his imprint on several acclaimed Andalusian layouts. Other renowned international architects including Harry Colt, Dave Thomas or Gary Player have designed signature courses across the country. Special mention must be made to pioneer golf architect Javier Arana, regarded as Spain’s finest designer, as well as to José Gancedo, regarded as its most creative, and to the works of famous Spanish golfers Seve Ballesteros, José María Olazábal o Manuel Piñero.
